Dear Juno, Or Any Other Teenage Parent In The Same Situation,
My name is Ryan and I am 17 years old and currently a senior in high school. I saw your movie and I have some advice for you and anyone else in your situation. First of all I want you to know that I wont sit here and tell you that sex before marriage is wrong or how stupid you are for doing it. We can’t change our pasts no matter how much we want to, so all we can do is learn from our mistakes and move on with our lives.
Now it’s time for my advice. I believe that you made the right choice in carrying the baby to term and making sure it would have a good loving parent. I understand that it must have been unimaginably hard and stressful for you, but I believe that that is what you owe the innocent life you brought into this world. That baby didn’t choose it’s fate, you did, so you needed to take responsibility for your actions. Abortion is the easy way out and I was glad to see that you did not give in to the convenience of it.
That being said, neither I nor anyone else can make the decision for you. If you truly believe that an abortion is the right decision then there is nothing anyone can do to stop you, but I hope that after reading my letter you have realized that abortion is not the answer.
